Stop number two on the Hokie Spirit Garden Trail is the Grove at the Virginia-Maryland Regional College of Veterinary Medicine located on the Virginia Tech campus.

The Veterinary Medicine Oak Grove is a spectacular collection of old growth Oaks near the entrance to campus on Duck Pond Drive. Many of the trees are in excess of 200 years old. A summer walk through center of the grove has been described as a walk through a living cathedral. The area is used by the Veterinary College for numerous activities throughout the year as well as by students in plant science programs.

In 2004, a committee was formed by Campus Landscape Architect Matt Gart to create a phased improvement plan for the grove. The committee was comprised of members of the university Arboretum Committee and several faculty and staff from Vet Med. Phase one of the plan consisting of tree planting, tree pruning, and mulching was completed in 2006. The final phase includes planting of additional Oaks, native flowering shrubs and trees, drifts of spring bulbs, and expansion of the wood chip beds.
